Midshipmen Grab Sixth Straight Gymnastics Title

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The United States Naval Academy picked up the 2024 ECAC Men’s Gymnastics crown on Saturday afternoon, picking up a team score of 401.450 en route to their sixth consecutive championship. The Midshipmen finished the weekend more than eight full points ahead of second place, continuing their recent dominant streak.
 
The Midshipmen won the All-Around and three of the six events in the competition. Navy headlined a championship field that featured Greenville University (393.000), host Spring College (392.050), Army (390.900), The College of William & Mary (387.800) and Simpson College (360.950) as the top six.
 
Navy’s Isaiah Drake repeated as All-Around Champion with a total score of 80.300 after picking up third place in the floor exercise (14.100), second in the still rings (13.350), third in the parallel bars (13.650) and sixth in the horizontal bar (13.050).
 
Riley Rose (13.550) took home an event win in the still rings, giving the Midshipmen a 1-2 finish. Fellow Navy teammate Matthew Petros (14.050) emerged with gold in the parallel bars, with the Midshipmen claiming three of the top four individual spots.

Greenville teammates Zach Connelly (14.350) and Charles Kramer (14.100) turned in first and second respectively in the floor exercise, while Springfield’s Peyton Cramer (14.800) earned gold in the pommel horse.

In the vault, Logan Patterson (14.850) of Greenville claimed gold, while teammate Beau Bice (9.400) grabbed the bronze. 

Navy jumped out to an early lead on the floor, taking a .850 point lead after one event, and the Midshipmen increased their advantage with each successive rotation.

The ECAC also announced its men’s gymnastics All-Implement Teams and top annual awards.
