ECAC Announces Men's Gymnastics Awards For Week Ending January 19

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced it’s weekly awards for Men’s Gymnastics for the week ending January 19.

Gymnast of the Week
Brian Solomon – Navy, So. (Pictured)
Solomon placed first among all-around competitors at Saturday's Navy Open with a score of 77.15. Individually, his floor exercise performance was the best at the meet with a 14.0 that cleared the field by 0.35 points. Additionally, he was just 0.05 points shy of first place on the rings with a 13.0 and 0.05 shy of first on the vault with a 13.95. The rest of his AA score consisted of a 12.8 on the p-bars, a 12.7 on the high bar and a 10.7 on the pommel horse.

Routine of the Week
Braxton Jones – Simpson College, Fr.
In his second ever NCAA meet, Freshman Braxton Jones stuck a Kas 1-1/2 on vault. The vault placed him in the top 10 in a deep field at the Rocky Mountain Open.  

Rookie of the Week
Braxton Jones – Simpson College, Fr.
Freshman Braxton Jones competed two events for Simpson in his second ever NCAA meet. Hitting both routines he helped the storm to a five point increase on the floor exercise and stuck the biggest vault any storm gymnast has ever competed.
