The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announces Flag Football player awards for week ending March 15.
Offensive Player of the Week
Jesenia Velez, Wide Receiver, Marymount University, Fr.
Jesenia showed incredible versatility by playing multiple positions on offense and scoring 10 touchdowns as a runner, receiver and passer. Over the 4 games on March 11, Jesenia passed for 3 touchdowns and 167 yards, rushed for 316 yards and 5 touchdowns, and caught 2 touchdowns for 112 yards.
Defensive Player of the Week
Katherine Johnson, Rusher, Mercyhurst University, Fr.
Katherine tallied a total of 18 flag pulls, 17 of which were solo. Against ECAC opponent Allegheny, Johnson had a team-high five flag pulls with three TFL. Over three games this past week, Johnson recorded 12 TFL with two sacks.
