PRESIDENT/CEO

The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) is accepting applications and nominations for the position of President/CEO of the Conference. The ECAC is the nation's largest collegiate athletics conference, composed of over 200 members colleges and universities in Divisions I, II and III. A conference of conferences, the ECAC includes within its organizational structure six playing leagues and two affiliate organizations. The Conference office is centrally located in Danbury Connecticut.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The ECAC is seeking an energetic and decisive individual who will provide leadership and direction to the organization. This position will report directly to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Administrative Committee and will act under their direction and guidance. The ECAC is comprised of members representing all three divisions of the NCAA and its President should have an understanding of their issues and expectations. The President will supervise the planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of all programs and personnel within the structure of the Conference, and will represent the ECAC and its constituency to other national, regional, and local athletics governing bodies, educational institutions, and other appropriate private and public organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

1. Significant experience in collegiate athletics administration or equivalent experience in a related field requiring administrative competence managing a diverse constituency.
2. Strong administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to perceive and adjust organizational strengths and strategic plans to meet the needs and objectives of the Conference.
3. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to consistently and effectively communicate with all ECAC constituents, including individual institutions, conference commissioners, chairs of ECAC committees, and the ECAC Board of Directors.
4. Demonstrated leadership and strong work ethic with energy and enthusiasm to advance the Conference's mission.
5. A successful record of long-range financial planning in a complex organization.
6. Demonstrated marketing and promotional skills.
7. Knowledge and commitment to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Title IX, Title VII, the Equal Pay Act and other state/federal legislation or regulations affecting the administration of collegiate athletic programs.
8. An understanding of the history and tradition of the ECAC.
9. Bachelors, Masters Preferred

COMPENSATION:
Salary commensurate with experience/qualifications. Excellent benefits package.
