2016 #ECACD3FBFEST Closes Out Crowning Six Champions
Danbury, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) hosted the ECAC Division III Football Fest (#ECACD3FBFEST) Nov. 18-20 at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Now in its second year, it is a one-of-a-kind event in college athletics.
The ECAC moved the Division III football bowl games to a neutral site in 2015 in an effort to enhance the postseason experience offered to its student-athletes, and in that regard, last year's event was a resounding success.
The presenting sponsors for the 2016 #ECACD3FBFEST were: Best Western, the official hospitality partner of the ECAC; N&D Sports, the official merchandise provider of #ECACD3FBFEST; Academy Bus, the official travel partner of the ECAC; GuardLab; TeeVee Media & Production; and Dual Fuel.
The #ECACD3FBFEST series featured six games spread over three days with a champion and Most Valuable Player crowned for each game.
"The whole weekend in Philly was outstanding," said Interim Commissioner/CFO John Rollins. "All the participating teams were excited to play at Franklin Field and the support from the coaches and administrators has been outstanding. Our partnership with Penn was crucial to the success of the event and their staff did a tremendous job. Our goal was to create a memorable championship experience the student-athletes and I'm proud of our staff who did a great job pulling this all together. I'm still fired up!"
